Last year, 2009 was my first year for planting Flower Carpet Roses http://www.my-gardening-and-landscaping-makeover.com/carpet-roses.html. I planted the Scarlett and the Amber.While it has been said that these rose shrubs grow on the smaller side, mine grew to new heights of over 4 feet and almost as wide. I normally do not like to hard prune my roses in their first year of planting, but honestly, these grew so huge and were calling out to be trimmed. I obliged.
